Our beautiful 16th Century gentleman's residence has been sympathetically restored to provide luxurious self catering accommodation on two levels in the pretty  and convenient hamlet of Clappersgate.

 

Guests are able to relax and enjoy the delightful cottage garden a sun trap patio.  Loughrigg Fell can be accessed from the path adjacent. Todd Crag House is a tranquil retreat on the road between Langdale and bustling Ambleside. Less than 1 mile away you will find an array of shops, restaurants and pubs to meet all needs.

Todd Crag occupies the lower level of this two storey stone built residence. You will find the original oak beams and supports, panelling and Minton tiled hall floor.

This very spacious ground floor apartment comprises:

At the front of the property is the traditional entrance porch with timber clad slate seats (a sunny place to sit and read the morning papers or simply watch the world go by) leading into a spacious panelled hall with Minton tiles, leaded window and oak beams.

At the other end of the hall the rear door (the main entrance) leads directly into the private cottage garden with patio furnishings. The extremely spacious yet cosy LOUNGE with wide screen SmartTV  beautifully furnished with deep cushioned sofas, a window seat, Laura Ashley fabrics and the all important warming open fire set in a magnificent oak and stone surround. 

The large KITCHEN is fully equipped with everything you need for self catering. It includes an Air Fryer. TV with Amazon Fire Stick

The spacious BEDROOM with king size bed is beautifully furnished with co-ordinating fabrics with another window seat and plump cushions. TV with Amazon Fire Stick

The BATHROOM is designed for relaxation with bath / powerful shower.

In addition there is, for your convenience a large UTILITYroom housing washing machine, drier and central heating boiler. Lots of room for boots, rucksacks and waterproofs.

There is a private cottage garden for your use. This sunny spot is ideal for morning coffee afternoon tea or evening aperitifs.

PARKING is within the grounds of the properties with easy access through the enclosed sunny patio garden or from the substantial oak front door .

Wi Fi.  

PETS  Up to 2 well behaved pets are welcome for which we do not make an additional charge. As we have recently renewed the carpets throughout we must ask for a precautionary £50 returnable deposit. We do not expect to find any evidence of the pet at the end of the visit.

If you enjoy low level walks the track adjacent to the property leads directly onto the fells and our personal favourite is onto Todd Crag and beyond. The views are fabulous!
